Hero-Together

About HERO-TOGETHER

HERO-TOGETHER is collecting real-world information about COVID-19 vaccines in U.S. healthcare workers, their family members, and members of their communities.

Real world-information collected includes data about side effects and hospitalizations reported by participants after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.

When are Results Expected?

HERO-TOGETHER participants will continue to share their experiences for up to 2 years after receiving the vaccine. Once all information is collected, researchers will then analyze the data and share results with participants, HERO Registry members, regulatory agencies, the scientific community, and the public.

Pfizer is paying to support HERO-TOGETHER, including the online platform operated by a company called Verily. All study activities are overseen by the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) Coordinating Center and an Institutional Review Board (IRB).

HERO-TOGETHER Interim Results

The HERO Research team is pleased to share a summary of interim demographic results (en español) from HERO-TOGETHER. These results were submitted as part of a larger report to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and includes data collected during the first six months of the study. Continuing to collect experiences after vaccination will help us understand the long-term health effects and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

Why is this Research Important?

Results from HERO-TOGETHER will provide insights into the rates of side effects in vaccinated persons and any increased risk of certain side effects after vaccination. This information can be used to help understand post-vaccination experiences from different groups of people and continue to help build confidence in vaccines.
